This women only camp is located in the San Bernardino Mountains of southern California, near Big Bear. It is not a typical rustic camping that you may recall from your childhood, but it is
real camping with nice cabins and bathrooms. You and your gal pals can
participate in many activities such as spa treatments, arts and crafts, and
outdoor activities such as archery, canoeing, and hiking. Other activities
include cinematherapy with chick flicks, bunco, and even tie dying!
The camp was originally designed as a place for moms and daughters to come to, but has since expanded to any women that are looking for this fun and unique experience. The camp now refers to its target group of visitors as "mothers and others."
Camp GetAway has been delivering weekend getaways for women
for more than 11 years, and the cost won't break your budget either! They have
spring and fall weekend getaways for only $325, which includes lodging, meals,
and all the fun you can handle. There are additional fees for "pampering
services" and special craft activities.
As of 2008, Pampering Fees included:
Hour Massage - $58
Hour Facial - $58
Manicure - $14
Pedicure - $20
Check in starts on Friday afternoons and then camp goes
until Sunday at noon. Camp GetAway has many resources on their website

The next camp date is September 19-21, 2008 but if you are
looking for a 24 hour scrapbooking experience, Camp GetAway will be holding a special weekendfor a weekend just for scrapbookers from May 16-18.
Camp prices include all activities and food except spa
treatments for $325. The scrapbooking weekend is $285. For a great
