That's right Wicked is ending after 4 great years in Chicago .  Spokespeople say they are leaving while the show is still on a high and is making money.  Whatever the reasons for leaving this musical will sure be missed and it has been a great asset to the Chicago theatre scene.  While you can still see Wicked in San Francisco (it was just moved from LA), New York, and on the national tour now is the time to see it before January 29^th and to see all that Chicago has to offer.

Many people may say that Chicago is to cold for them in the coming up months but Chicago is the most beautiful in the winter.  Yes, while summer is great and beautiful and you can do many things on the lake the winter offers the beautiful snow falling on all of the holiday lights everywhere.

Chicago has great traditions around the holidays such as the Christkindlmarket that the city puts on every year between Thanksgiving and Christmas which is an outdoor German type market that has great European Christmas gifts, German food, and great warm spiced wine with live entertainment.  This market is in Daley Plaza which is close to Macy's on State Street which use to be Marshall Fields which is a beautiful store with the window decorations and the tradition of the beautiful Christmas tree in the Walnut Room with great food.  A note to the wise is that the Walnut Room Fills up fast so reservations are definitely needed. Ice skating in Millennium Park is also another great way to enjoy the city lights with your friends.

Some hotels you might want to check out are Hotel Allegro right in the Theatre District that also allows you to bring your dog for the stay.  The Cass Hotel off the Magnificent Mile, a Holiday Inn express that was redone and kept the boutique feel.  You can also check out the other Kimpton Hotels besides Hotel Allegra you have Hotel Monaco, and Hotel Burnham.  What are you waiting for?  You know you want to see Wicked and you want to go to Chicago so get your friends together and get your Chick Vacation planned and booked!
