North America’s largest urban arts festival, Bumbershoot takes place for the 40th year in Seattle, WA. Bumbershoot represents the best in music, film, comedy, spoken word, dance, theatre, performance, and visual arts in the region and the world.

Bumbershoot got its name from the slang: bum•ber•shoot n. informal An umbrella. It is a metaphor for the Festival being an umbrella for all of the various arts and performers it encompasses.
Because of the wide variety of arts this festival draws in around 150, 000 people on Labor Day weekend. This great festival is located in the Seattle Center downtown Seattle and it is 3 days long and the cost of a ticket for one day starts at $22 and goes up to $40. They also have a three day pass for those wanting to spend more time at the festival.
